Easter treats

We have been busy this week with the kids being off from school for Spring Break. We picked mom up from the airport on Thursday and went to see the movie HOP on Friday. We spent Friday night and some time today making some Easter treats, take a look...

It has been fun, I have been sick, but finally went to the doctor Friday and got an antibiotic that is helping me to feel a LOT better!

Today is my BIRTHDAY!!!

Woohoo! Today is my birthday! I don't really like the getting older part, but I do love the self promotion of a party for myself!
Last night we got to hang out with friends and take it easy without the kids. Today we spent at Joe's mom's place. The kids wanted to go up there since we hadn't seen them in a while and I got a nice birthday meal, planned just for me!
The best part was opening my birthday present from my husband...a box with a printed picture of a Kitchenaid mixer. Hhmmm...what does that mean?? An I.O.U.?? Nope! My very own brand new Kitchenaid mixer to be delivered very soon! I CANNOT WAIT!
OHHH and on the way home, we went to Rita's ice and I got a free ice for my birthday! Yep, it was a good day!

Girl Scout Cookies

It is Girl Scout cookie time! Whitney made a goal to sell 50 boxes of cookies. She has surpassed that with her first cookie order! She has sold 112 boxes of cookies in her first week! Soooo..her new goal is to sell 200 boxes of cookies! Each box is $3.50. There are many varieties to choose from, Lemonades, Thanks a Lots, Caramel Delites, Thin Mints, Peanut Butter Patties, Peanut Butter Sandwiches, Shortbread, and Shout Outs.

They are all delicious! You can learn more about the GS cookies here. Selling cookies is not just about raising money for the girl scouts, it is about setting goals, building social skills, and confidence and teamwork! The girls learn a lot in the many aspects of cookie selling. Help Whitney to reach her goal. If you don't want the cookies, you can donate them to the Cookies from Home project that sends GS cookies to troops deployed overseas. Thanks for the help and support!

5 years

5 years! It has been five years since Joe and I married! 5 years ago we said "I Do" in the Little White Wedding Chapel in Las Vegas...magical, fun, an adventure. It has been an adventure these five years together.

Although our anniversary falls on a Saturday this year, Joe had to work, PLUS there is a Pittsburgh Steelers playoff game tonight. So, we have plans to go to lunch at Red Lobster and a movie tomorrow afternoon. We are so excited to have some date time!

So, in honor of our anniversary and the Steelers playoff game, I made some cookies!
Some for the game,

Some for my honey....

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY TO MR. & MRS. DAVIS!!!!

Score!

I am always trying to save money, but this time I was able to score a MAJOR savings! I got all this for only $2.19!!!!!

Want to know how??
Well....COUPONS, RiteAid UP+ Rewards, and 3 separate transactions.
1st transaction....6 boxes of Special K cereal. $4.79 each, Buy One Get One Free (Rite Aid sale). At Rite Aid for January you also get $1 UP+ reward for each box, so that is $6 in UP+ Rewards. I also had 3 coupons for Special K Buy one Get one Free (up to 4.49). So I paid 90 cents for the cereal out of pocket!!!! WOOHOOO!

2nd transaction....3 boxes of Kraft Deluxe Mac and Cheese/Velveeta Shells @ $1.99 each. This week at RiteAid you also get $1 UP+ Rewards on each box, so that is $3 UP+ rewards total for this transaction. So, 3 boxes @ 1.99 each=5.97, I added in an .88 pack of M&Ms and used my $6 in UP+ Rewards from the cereal. I paid 85 cents for this transaction out of pocket! Double WOOHOO!

3rd transaction...2 bags of Valentine themed M&Ms. This week at RiteAid they are on sale 2/$4.44. I had a coupon for $1.00 off. I used my $3 in UP+ Rewards from the Mac & Cheese and paid 44 cents out of pocket for this transaction! Triple WHOOHOO!

I don't usually have the time to invest in this kind of deal, but it was pretty good this week, especially with that BOGO coupon for the cereal. If you have the opportunity, try it yourself!
