Splash Pad and Pizza

Today we took Whitney to a splash pad at a local shopping center similar to Alamance Crossing. There is a small series of fountains that squirt water about for the kids to run and play in. The splash pad is right next to the Starbucks, yummy lattes! So, the parents can relax with a nice iced latte and watch the kids splash around. Then, there is the SHOPPING...always a good thing! I got Whitney some much needed new clothes for the FALL season....she is growing like a weed, right before our eyes!

Later, we took her for pizza at a local pizzeria. She had a slice of white pizza, b.c now she doesn't like sauce. She wanted a slice of macaroni and cheese pizza and cinnamon sticks but they did not have that there. She cried, but Joe took her out for a talk and calmed her down long enough for her to enjoy her HUGE slice of pizza! We ended up going to the grocery store to buy ingredients for cinnamon rolls and macaroni and cheese pizza to make at home! She is SO rotten :)

Playing with the cousins at the Park

These pictures were taken a while ago, but I thought I would throw them out in the blog! Joe's mom and stepdad Charlie came out one weekend in June to bring out Blaine's bed (it was in storage). They brought Joe's stepbrother's kids Tyler and Reese too! We took a picnic to our local park and after we ate fried chicken, we let the kids run wild! The boys and girls are about the same age, so they each had a playmate. Fun times....aaahhh Summer :)

Trip to the Shore

For this post I have no pictures of the beach, but I promise that we went! I thought it was best to keep the camera in the bag and just enjoy our time there. My friend Tina and her mom invited us out to the New Jersey shore (Sea Isle City) to spend some time in the sand and surf!
Tina's mom's former boss has a condo out there and we stopped in to change and say HI. We had a great time playing in the waves and just relaxing in the sun. It was probably the hottest day of the year (about 107 heat index) but on the beach we had a breeze and the water was cool, so that helped a bunch! The kids (Whitney and Tina's two, Hayley and Landon) played in the sand and had a great time. The first time we went in the ocean it was really nice and we were trying to teach Whitney to boogie board, until I lost hold of her and she went under (oops). She is fine and wanted to go out again, so all is well....After a little break for some sand time, we went back in and there was SEAWEED EVERYWHERE! UGH! Despite the icky seaweed, it was nice to reconnect with my friend and relax before heading back to work.

That's right, I eased back into work today. Our official first day back is Wednesday, but I had a training this morning that I presented for new teachers and I have to attend a workshop on Monday and orientation day on Tuesday. So, soon I will be a real working girl again! **SIGH** I have loved this summer off and will miss all the time with my kids, but C'est la vie!

Here I do have pictures from about a MONTH AGO!!!

For Father's day I got Joe a 3 lap ride-along in a stock car at the Pocono raceway. He ended up with 6 laps instead of 3, which was AWESOME!

Getting in the car

We also went to a BIG Boulder Field in a state park close to the Poconos. Blaine and Joe and Whitney walked ALL the way across and back! I would have gone, but I am extremely uncoordinated and clumsy and was not wearing sneakers b.c I did not know we were going that day....At least that is my story and I am sticking to it!

Whitney making her way across the boulders...some way bigger than her!

Blaine and Joe about half way across

Blaine...my rockstar :)

Enjoy!
