Christmas fun!

There was lots of activity in the Davis Family this Christmas! We are so glad that Blaine was included in all the fun this year! He had his choral debut in his first ever concert performance. He was terrified, but did a great job!

Whitney also had a holiday concert the very next week. She had a super time performing, but she was really glad to be able to STOP practicing!

Then Christmas! We spent Christmas eve at Grammy and Pappy Brophy's but came home in time to set cookies and milk out for Santa. The kids enjoyed being able to wake up at home on Christmas morning and managed to sleep in until 7AM!

Then, the next day, the kids and I traveled to NC, bypassing a MAJOR snowstorm to get there, to have CHRISTMAS with my mom and sister. We made really good time...left the house at 7 AM and arrived before 4 PM! The kids were great on the drive down. The kids were very excited to see Grandma and Aunt Lisa and of course open presents!

Trick or Treat

Today was a busy day! We went to a Halloween parade in nearby Springtown, PA. It was a lot of fun! We got to sit right across from the judging, so we got a good seat. The kids ended up getting alot of candy too...to start out the candy receiving!

Later, we got all dressed up in our costumes and prepared to go trick-or-treating! We started out in the daylight, but it quickly turned to night. There were lots of houses all decorated in scary fare, perfect for Halloween night.

Daisy Girl Scouts

We now have a Daisy Girl Scout in the family! Bring on the cookies!

Whitney was so happy to be able to join Girl Scouts this year. They had their Investiture (pinning ceremony) tonight. She received her Daisy vest, and her two Girl Scout pins.

She was chosen as one of the flag bearers for the ceremony, which is a great honor. Whitney did a WONDERFUL job!

After the meal and the flag ceremony, the new Daisys served their family cake and ice cream to celebrate Girl Scout founder, Juliette Low's birthday!

It was a great day!

Cupcake bites

Mmmmm...YUMMM!!!

These are cupcake bites. They are chocolate cake mixed with chocolate frosting on the inside with a hard candy melt exterior...designed to look like cupcakes!

Beautiful, delicious! They were inspired by this blog..this baker... I bought her book, Cake Pops and I have not stopped looking at it! So many things to create! She is coming to my area next month for a book signing...CANNOT WAIT!

Pumpkin Patch and Corn maze

This Sunday we took the kids to a local farm that has a pumpkin patch and corn maze. We all had a good time walking through the maze and trying to find our way. Whitney insisted on being our walking leader most of the time! She did a pretty good job of leading us through, only running us into dead ends a few times! We then went to the pumpkin patch and picked out a couple of pumpkins to take home. The only requirement, was that they had to be big enough to carve a face into!

DORNEY PARK!!!

A couple of weeks ago Joe's company gave all the employees passes to Dorney Park..which is like Carowinds. It is really close by (only about 30 minutes) so we had been there in the summer. When we went in the summer it was really hot and we went to the waterpark too, but this time we took our time, there were no lines and it was a great fall day!
Look at all the cool rides we went on!!

UPDATE: OMG! School has started!

Update: Now with pictures!

It has been really crazy around here lately! Both the kids started school on Monday (August 30th). The transition has been a lot smoother than I anticipated! They have been really tired in the morning, but I am hoping that will work itself out soon.

Whitney started Kindergarten! I can hardly believe it! Has it really been that long already? Is she really old enough to be in Kindergarten? Can I freeze these moments, please???

Whitney goes to daycare in the morning for Kindergarten Enrichment care. She plays and has class time there, then has lunch. She gets on the bus at daycare and rides the bus to her school, Richland Elementary. She is in Mrs. Beason's class. One of the boys that lives close by to us is in her class too! They also get to ride the bus home together! Whitney has been enjoying her school experience so far. We hope this continues for the next 13 years!

Blaine started 8th grade! I think I may faint. 8th grade??? Seriously? I was really worried about Blaine's transition to Strayer Middle school, but he has done amazing! He loves every day, likes his classes, has made LOTS of friends and even reports that he has a "girlfriend"! Oh my!

I am so glad that both my children are having a good start to this academic year! I can't wait to see what the rest of the year has in store for us....

OK, that was about a month ago!!

I wanted to add pictures, but for some reason, with the upgrade of my computer software, my camera is no longer compatible...so no pictures this time..

In other family news....I have been SOOOOO busy at work the past two months! I think I may actually be getting a break soon, but that will be another week at least!
We have been to the Bloomsburg Fair this year and it did not rain!! YAY! We are looking forward to going to a pumpkin patch and taking a hayride soon...it is that time of year! Joe's company, Kelly Automotive, gave all the employees passes to Dorney Park for a day a couple of weekends ago. That was SO much fun! Perfect weather and NO lines!

Whitney is enjoying Kindergarten and has recently started Daisy Girl Scouts. She was chosen as one of the girls that will carry the flag in the flag ceremony at Investiture on October 25th. She is so excited!

Blaine tried out for a special concert chorus. He didn't make it, but he gave it a shot, so that shows courage! He is doing well with his grades and is having a good time in school...we are very proud of him.
That is about it for an update this time around...I hope to have pictures, next time!

Fun in the Summertime

We have been having lots of fun this summer, playing, and swimming, and grilling out, and eating ice cream! We spent a few days over the July 4th weekend with Joe's dad at a campground. We did not camp, rather Bill was nice enough to put us up in a hotel nearby so that we would have a nice bed and shower!! Thanks, Bill! We played lots of cornhole and enjoyed spending time together! Blaine found a new passion...GOLF! We took him to a driving range for the first time ever and he LOVED it, now he is obsessed with getting a set of clubs!

We found a new pool to go to....Nockamixon state park pool! It is in the country, tucked away, and very nice. I took the kids today and we all had a good time. It was a big pool with a deep end, but it only went to 4 ft 7 inches so it wasn't over my head or Blaine's! Whitney enjoyed splashing around in the kiddie section and we even got her to go down the waterslide!

We hope you all are having as much fun as we are this summer! :)
