There is no denying it

There is no denying it....we live in a snowy region. Last year when we moved to PA, it snowed the day we moved up here. We had lots of little bursts of snow throughout the winter...but this winter has been one to remember.
Just look at this....

We have had the snowiest season on record...over 70 inches of snow has fallen in Philadelphia this winter..including 3 storms with snow totals of over 20 inches. HHHMMMM......

This storm is expected to be big. They are going so far as to call it a snow hurricane! All the while, Joe's parents are on a cruise in the carribbean...way far away from all the snow and cold!

Whitney turns 5!

Wasn't it just yesterday that this beautiful girl was born???

It is hard to believe that my baby girl is five years old! Whitney Summer Davis...born February 11, 2005 at 8:28 p.m.
She is beautiful, helpful, curious, and smart yet, sometimes, stubborn and relentless! At this moment she is saying, "Momma, Mommy, Mom, Momma, Mommy, Mom", over and over and over!
I love her so and am so glad she is in our lives.

Here are some pictures from her birthday party. We all had a great time! She had about 15 kids there from preschool and dance class. She picked a cake that we had to special order with two layers, one chocolate and one white.

We made special heart shaped iced cookies with her name on them and Joe made our favorite chocolate covered pretzels.

We were able to have the party in the fire hall, which was nice because we had plenty of space and the kids could play and explore the fire trucks.
We got Darlene from the fire company to bring the dalmation, Emme down for the kids to pet.

We hired a clown to come and play games with the kids like hot potato, candy scatter, and limbo!

And of course, we had a pinata!

We were so happy to be able to give Whitney a great party with all her friends!

Treats in the making

Whoa...it has been awhile since I have posted....I guess I have been busy! In the month of January we only got about one inch of snow and that was last week on the 28th when PENNDOT was totally unprepared and did not coat the roads or plow them! UGH!
This week, however, we got three inches of snow on Wednesday and are expecting a blizzard this weekend. As of right now, 9:00 p.m., nothing....hmmm....But I may be wishing it away in a few days!

Joe and I celebrated our 4 year anniversary a few weeks ago! YAY! We went to Red Lobster and had great food and great company :) Love my honey!

Whitney and I have been creating a lot lately. We made about 26 invitations to Whitney's birthday party. Here is a picture of them.

We spent about two days working on them. They were very labor intensive, but she was a BIG helper! She helped operate the Cricut (to cut the paper), use the embossing gun to heat the embossing powder, she helped apply the glitter, and assemble the cards. I could not have done it without her!

The party is going to be next week...February 13th at the fire hall. The chief was nice enough to let us use their space and let the kids play on the trucks while we are there. We are having a clown come out for some games and balloon sculpting, so we are looking forward to that!

In prep for that, and just because I like to experiment, Whitney and I made these cute little concoctions. They are fondant covered Oreo cakesters rolled in sprinkled sugar. MMMMMM!!!!!

We are anticipating the snow and hope to be stuck inside all weekend! During that time we are going to make sugar cookies and attempt to decorate them...pictures will follow!!!
